Hillary Clinton Responds to Rumor She’d Be Bloomberg’s VP
Last Saturday, in what was likely a strategic attempt to garner headlines and relevancy on a Saturday afternoon when there was no other substantive news for major networks to report, the Drudge Report dropped a “bombshell” that Michael Bloomberg was considering none other than Hillary Clinton as his Vice Presidential candidate. Over at the Bongino Report we linked to the report with caution that it had to be taken “with a pound of salt.”
The report came only a few weeks after Hillary publicly said that she “feels the urge” to run. Hillary has been making vaguely similar comments every couple of months since she lost, which, like Drudge, are probably only made to get attention.
The Bloomberg campaign responded that they hadn’t yet considered any VP candidates at the time, but came short of explicitly denying that Hillary could make the list. Now Hillary is confirming that she hasn’t “felt the urge” to serve as his VP.
According to Fox News: Hillary Clinton on Tuesday reportedly shut down rumors that she might consider serving as Michael Bloomberg’s running mate if he were to win the Democratic presidential nomination.
“Oh no! I’m just waiting and watching as this plays out. I will support whoever the nominee is,” she told the moderator while in Puerto Rico for a Clinton Global Initiative event.
Last week, the 2016 Democratic nominee played down the idea that she could be a vice presidential pick, telling Ellen DeGeneres on her show, “Well, that’s not going to happen, but no.”
If Hillary Clinton were to be the eventual Democrat nominee’s VP, it would certainly be an asset to the Trump campaign. On the downside, we’d have to regularly see Hillary Clinton on the news for the next year.
